LURD rebels continued to use 60mm, 81mm and 82mm mortars against targets in the capital. The rebels are either not well trained in the use of the mortars, or are simply firing randomly, as there is no pattern of where the shells fall. The capital is crowded with over a 100,000 refugees and dozens of these are wounded daily by mortar shells.
MODEL rebels have taken over most of Buchanan, the second largest (after the capital) port.
