A southern state, where Moslems comprise about half the population, is to impose Sharia law for civil, but not criminal matters than involve Moslems. Meanwhile, northern states continue to hold off on imposing death and amputation sentences. Islamic conservatives and local non-Moslems continue to demonstrate, and sometimes resort to violence, over this issue. Meanwhile, the war on corruption is losing traction as corruption in the media became an issue (via reporting in the foreign press.) The local media won't openly admit they are bribed, but privately they do. This makes it difficult to handle corruption short of a civil war.
