Gambia and Burkina Faso have denounced a UN report claiming that RUF rebels in Sierra Leone sold diamonds through Gambia and received weapons shipments through Burkina Faso. Liberia was also cited in the UN report as the major sponsor of the RUF rebels, a role it denied.--Stephen V Cole
