Three Sri Lankans were arrested in India for trying to smuggle communications gear to LTTE rebels. They were arrested in Tamil Nadu, the south Indian province across the straits from Sri Lanka. The LTTE is Tamil and they have much support in Tamil Nadu. In northern Sri Lanka, the army and LTTE continued to exchange artillery and sniper fire.
