The army and LTTE rebels continued to slug it out in Jaffna, using a lot of artillery. This went on despite the LTTE declared unilateral truce. The LTTE is also calling for international aid and pressure on the Sri Lankan government. No one appears to be responding. Some 15,000 civilians are trapped in the area where the fighting is going on.
