Sri Lanka: June 2, 2000


  Thai police found a half built submarine in a shipyard  apparently owned by LTTE sympathizers. The 30 foot long submersible could carry two or three people and was apparently designed to laying mines. The sub is similar to one seized by the government in the northeast of Sri Lanka. Meanwhile, government defenses in Jaffna appear to be holding against LTTE attacks.
