Sudan: April 17, 2001


The UNHCR said that seven Sudanese refugees were killed and several dozen hurt in a riot that occurred in the Kakuma refugee camp in north Kenya. The fight reportedly took place between two Dinka clans. The UNHCR says that there are 63,000 Sudanese in the camp, 20,000 Somalis, and 1,000 other refugees.
