A Khartoum government spokesman said Sudanese security forces fought a battle with camel-mounted bandits in Darfur state. Nine bandits were killed in the battle. Another Sudanese source said the bandits had been rustling cattle. The government forces reportedly recovered 25 stolen cattle after the battle.
