The Sudanese government (Khartoum) attacked the US House of Representatives. The US Congress passed a bill condemning Sudan for human rights violations and requiring American businesses doing business with Sudan to disclose all of their Sudanese activities. The bill also earmarks another ten million dollars for Sudan's National Democratic Alliance (NDA), the rebel political alliance.
