The Sudan Peoples Democratic Front (SPDF) issued a statement claiming its forces killed 167 Sudanese government troops in battles near the towns of Pul Tutni and Mirmir. In another report, the SPDF claimed its troops hit a Sudanese government convoy near the town of Kuac on January 25, and killed around 100 government troops. There was no independent confirmation of the claims.
