The Sudanese government (Khartoum) and the SPLA opened a new series of peace talks. The Khartoum government began by insisting that Sudan remain unified. The Khartoum statement did say that there should be equality of different regions. Khartoum has apparently decided to quit accusing the SPLA of violating a ceasefire (see past reports of the SPLA victory at Kapoeta).
