Britain plans to contract out the training of armored vehicle drivers to a new Armored Vehicles Training Service. This will be a contract with a private company covering 30 years and costing about $1 billion. The AVTS will provide soldiers with basic training, including the extensive use of vehicle simulators to save costs. The British government expects to save about $1.25 billion over the 30 years.--Stephen V Cole
