Desultory, but persistent, fighting continues in Uije province, about 400 kilometers northeast of Luanda. It's not clear what the UNITA strategy is there, perhaps something as simple as a very active local commander. Most of the operations are in the north and east, where the valuable raw materials are located, and which pay for both sides arms and troops.
