Update on the big French illegal Angolan arms trial. Looks like its no longer so big. A French court announced that the investigation was over due to a technicality. Frances Court of Cassation said in its ruling that the case had to be dropped because criminal arms-trafficking charges were brought against the defendants before the French defense and finance ministries had taken appropriate bureaucratic and investigating action. The court cited a 1939 law. One of the defendants was the son of former French leader Francois Mitterand.
