The organization which manages the USS Hornet (a retired WWII aircraft carrier used as a museum in San Francisco Bay) report that China tried to lease the ship for a one-year display in Hong Kong, but was turned down out of concern that the Chinese Navy wanted to conduct a detailed examination of the ship and reverse engineer its design. --Stephen V Cole
