Another mayor was killed, apparently by FARC assassins. In the last year, FARC has killed 14 mayors and 63 town council members. The rebels are trying to force mayors to cooperate with them and not the government. The intimidation program has largely backfired, with most mayors defiantly staying on the job (with lots of police and army protection).
