A car bomb went off in the city of Medellin, outside the offices of a conservative political candidate. It's thought to be another FARC action, but politics in Colombia often involves excessive roughness.

In a move to improve it's image, especially in Europe, FARC is going to release presidential candidate Ingrid Betancourt, who was seized in early 2002. Betancourt is very popular in France and her release has become an issue in Europe. FARC has lost support of its usual leftist European allies because of the Betancourt issue.
