Colombia: December 16, 2003


Three bombs went off in the coastal city of Barranquilla, killing one and wounding twenty. These bombs were believed part of a rebel extortion campaign against local businesses. The rebels demand "revolutionary taxes" from businesses and threaten attacks if the money is not paid.
