Indian security forces killed two top Islamic militants during gun battles in the province of Kashmir. Adnan Qureshi, a Pakistani citizen and local commander of the Pakistan-based group Lashkar-e-Taiba was one of the two militants killed. This clash further highlights the possibility that the projected US conflict with Afghanistan could cause tensions between Pakistan and India to intensify. India has its own problems with radical Islamic groups. From Delhi India's top Muslim clerics stated that terror attacks on the United States were signs of "divine wrath" and a warning that Washington needs to stop its "anti-Muslim policies."
