In Kashmir, terrorists attacked the provincial assembly building in Srinagar, killing 38 and wounding more. A Pakistan based terrorist group, Jaish-e-Mohammed, took responsibility for the attack. Earlier, India had reported that many Kashmiri terrorists had departed for Afghanistan to defend the Taliban government. The Pakistani government is betting on the Taliban being overthrown, which would weaken (and enrage) the millions of Taliban supporters in Pakistan.
