Pakistan and Iran have signed an agreement to cooperate in anti-terrorism operations and  stopping drug smuggling out of Afghanistan. Another thousand Pakistani troops have been moved to the Afghan border in order to shut down the cross country smuggling routes. Pakistan is also seeking to arrest Taliban fighters (often Pakistani Pushtuns) who are fleeing back into Pakistan. The Taliban has ordered these untrained Pakistanis back to Pakistan. In Kashmir, rebel violence left four rebels, four soldiers and one civilian dead.
