In Karachi, Pakistan, a bomb went off outside a shopping center, leaving one dead.

Bangladesh and India border troops are on alert over a dispute concerning the nationality of several hundred people. Immigration from crowded Bangladesh to the much less populated Indian side of the border has caused problems for decades. Many people living along both sides of the border lack identity papers. This is usually because they are tribal peoples opposing the Indian government, or Bangladeshi migrants trying to pass as Indians. There have been several firefights between Bangladeshi and Indian border troops in the past few years, as illegal migration problems were confronted with force.
