In Kashmir, rebel violence left seven dead. Five were Hindu villagers and two were former rebels. The rebels continue to devote a lot of their efforts to attacks on non-Moslems (to encourage all non-Moslems to flee Kashmir) and local Moslems who cooperate with the local government (elected and Moslem dominated).
Pakistan admitted that there has been firing across the Afghan border, but insists that it largely involves tribesmen fighting over tribal matters, not Pakistani soldiers.
