For the first time, Indian and Chinese warships held joint exercises off the Chinese coast. An Indian destroyer and corvette exercises with a Chinese cruiser. The exercise was more symbolic than practical, but sends a message to Pakistan that it cannot depend on China as an ally and an enemy of India.

In Pakistan, young Islamic radicals are becoming more bold. For example, groups of them will storm into art exhibits where men and women are attending together, and smash artworks and terrorize the people. The radicals will then run off before the police can show up.
