In Kashmir, rebels made their first major attack since the November 26 ceasefire between India and Pakistan went into effect. Two suicide attackers, dressed in Indian army uniforms, stormed into a railroad station and killed four security officials before they themselves were killed. While the majority of Kashmiri rebel organizations are now willing to negotiate with India, the others are determined to expel the non-Moslems and make Kashmir independent or part of Pakistan.
