In the northeast India Assam region, army patrols searching for rebel weapons caches, found them, and also ran into armed rebels. At least five rebels were killed in several incidents. The large number of separatist tribal rebels captured recently has led to information obtained (from interrogations) about the membership and organization of  the rebels in towns and villages. This has led to a round up of a lot of these rebels, and serious damage to the separatist organizations.
