In southwest Pakistan, police arrested 17 Afghans and accused them of belonging to the Taliban and participating in terrorist activities. The Afghans have been under investigation for some time, and it had been noted that more Afghan Taliban had been fleeing Afghanistan because of increased police and army operations along the border.
