Troops fired warning shots to disperse demonstrators in Central Sulawesi. In the last two months, religious violence has killed 141 and injured 99. In Aceh, the government rebels agreed on procedures to avoid conflict and bring peace to the province. But violence continued, with two rebels wounded in clashes with police. A student demonstration in Borneo resulted in twelve people injured. The demonstrators were demanding the resignation of the provincial governor (who was elected in 1997 when the Suharto .government was still in charge.)
