In Aceh, rebel violence left two soldiers and three rebels dead. Meanwhile, in Switzerland, Aceh rebel and government negotiators agreed to extend the shaky ceasefire another month. The current ceasefire was to have expired January 15th. The deal is still a little murky in its details, as the government wants the rebels to put down their weapons and operate as a political party. Many of the armed rebels want to keep fighting.
