Violence in Aceh left 1700 dead last year, and some 10,000 dead since the independence movement began in 1976. Rebel violence killed another four people in the last 48 hours.  Things have slowed a bit in the Malukus, where over 5,000 have died since 1999. In Central Sulawesi, at least a thousand have died since 2000. Police arrested 19 men thought to be involved in the New Year's eve bombing of churches.
