 Angry government officials demanded that the US provide evidence that al Qaeda is operating in the country. The government is upset that the US has issued a warning to American travelers about visiting Indonesia. The US has given the government evidence, but the government has dismissed it and insisted that there is little Islamic radicalism in the country. This is done despite the fact that other nations, like the Philippines and Singapore, have arrested Indonesians for terrorist activity and implicated radical Islamic leaders living in Indonesia.
