 Fighting in Aceh left two more dead, including a rebel district leader.

Police say they aborted a terrorist plot to bomb national police headquarters in the capital. Over the last few months, the government has admitted that there are Islamic terrorists, connected with al Qaeda, operating in the country and has been rounding up suspects. This is, as the government expected, produced protests from Islamic leaders. But so far, there has been no increase in unrest because of the anti-terrorism operations.
