 Police arrested seven men who were waiting to board a ship for the Philippines, where they planned to train at a Jemaah Islamiyah terrorist camp.

President Megawati Sukarnoputri advised the army to "avoid excesses" in Aceh. The campaign against separatist rebels in Aceh has been going on since May 19th, leaving hundreds, mostly civilians, dead.
