Coalition aircraft bombed Iraqi air defense facilities in the north because the Iraqis had challenged coalition aircraft over the northern no fly zone. This is the fourth time this month, compared to only four coalition attacks in all of December. Throughout, 1999, coalition attacks, in response to Iraqi actions, averaged 10-20 a month.
