The US-Turkey rapprochement continues. Turkish and U.S. officials have reached a new agreement to allow the US to use the big Turkish NATO airbase at Incirlik to support troop and equipment shipments to Iraq. This comes at a critical time for the US as the US is in the process of rotating troops into and out of Iraq. The Incirlik base is huge and well-equipped. For a decade US and British planes flew patrol and combat missions out of Incirlik to enforce the UNs northern No-Fly Zone over Iraq.
