  Israel made an air attack on suspected Hezbollah  positions in southern Lebanon after Hezbollah guerillas attacked Israeli positions in south Lebanon.

December 9; Three Hezbollah guerillas were killed in a clash with Israeli troops in south Lebanon.

December 6; Syria has privately reprimanded Lebanese Prime Minister Salim al-Huss for objecting in public to the Islamic Jihad group launching attacks on Israel from Lebanese soil.--Stephen V Cole

December 5; Hamas, Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad, and other radical Islamic groups have been sending their fighters to Russia for advanced training in commando tactics and special weapons. They have, according to reports in Israeli newspapers, also been recruiting Islamic men (primarily visiting Palestinian and Arab students) from inside Russia. This situation became known when Israeli police interrogated Palestinians who stunned their captors by recounting tales of training at Russian military bases and in various former Soviet republics. Israeli newspapers, citing reports from Israeli intelligence, also noted that Islamic Jihad and Hezbollah were actively recruiting Palestinian students at campuses in Turkey, Greece, Italy, Germany, and France. --Stephen V Cole
