Jordan has received the first of the 50 BTR-94 eight-wheeled armored personnel carriers it ordered from Ukraine. A variant of the Soviet-designed BTR-80, it mounts a 23mm cannon and a 7.62mm machinegun externally over a small turret. The vehicle carries eight infantry, the commander, and the driver. (It is unclear, but Jordan may have bought the version without waterjet propulsion, and this version can hold two additional infantry.) The side exits have been enlarged and three firing ports have been added to each side.--Stephen V Cole
