Newly appointed Palestinian prime minister Mahmoud 
Abbas has asked Hamas, the largest Palestinian terrorist organization, to halt attacks on Israeli civilians. Hamas is often willing to make deals, the other, smaller, terrorist organizations are not. Hamas is apparently willing to use ceasefires and truces as tools to reinforce and rebuild their terrorist infrastructure.

The navy caught a fishing boat headed for Gaza, carrying bomb making material. The boat contained rocket fuses and remote control detonators as well as 36 CDs with instructions on how to make bombs. A member of Hizbollah, a known bomb making expert, was on board.
