The leader of the Al Qaeda linked fighters with the Ansar al-Islami in northern Iraq were killed in a battle with Kurdish militia. Operations around Halabja have left over a hundred Kurds and Ansar fighters killed in the last three weeks. Kurds also caught an Ansar suicide bomber in the Kurdish city of Sulaimaniya.
