Negotiations with NDF rebels has been recessed by the government because of the killing of a legislator. The NDF took credit for the killing. Meanwhile, on Basilan island, the army says it has suffered 16 dead and 56 wounded during it's pursuit of the Abu Sayyaf. The rebels have lost 13 dead and 16 wounded. A congressman who was critical of the communist NDF rebels was killed by three gunmen outside his home.
