Apti Batalov, the chief of the rebel president of Chechnya has been captured by Russian commandos and brought to Moscow. The Russians also captured a Ukrainian mercenary fighting with the rebels. The prisoner reported that there were many foreign volunteers and mercenaries with the rebels, including Arabs, Russians, Egyptians and Indians. He said the rebels had many hidden bases in the mountains and use civilians, especially women with children, to collect information for them.
