The Russian government has told the Duma that it must have money to raise the submarine Kursk in order to prevent a nuclear disaster and to determine the cause of the accident. One parliamentarian has "confirmed" that a torpedo from the cruiser Pyotr Veliky sunk the sub, while another has "confirmed" that Kursk was sunk by a collision with the USS Memphis and has demanded that the US allow international inspection of that submarine.--Stephen V Cole
