Police arrested more than twenty suspected Chechen terrorists around the southern city of Volgograd (formerly Stalingrad). The suspects were accused of planning a bombing campaign. The FSB (former KGB) says it discovered over 400 foreign spies in the past year. Most were simply put under surveillance, with 41 being forced to stop their espionage. Many of the spies were operating under diplomatic immunity and many were from the Middle East.
