Russian troops continued to chase rebels fleeing Ingushetia for their Georgian sanctuary. Russian intelligence sources report that one of the rebels tried to reach a phone number in Saudi Arabia with his cell phone. The fleeing rebels are believed to belong to the pro-Wahhabi Moslem faction in Chechnya that advocates an Islamic republic in the Caucasus. Four years ago, it was attacks by this group into Russian territory that triggered the Russian move back into Chechnya.
