 Parliamentary elections put pro-Putin legislators in the majority. President Putin's rule has featured the popular Russian version of "law and order." This scares many foreigners, as it looks like the Soviet Union coming back. But Putin has given people what they want, and most Russians don't care if the government owns or controls most of the major TV stations. They want less crime on the streets and corruption in the government and economy. Putin has delivered, so far.
