The pro-Russian Chechen government continues to win over factions and build a growing coalition against the rebel groups. Russia continues to withdraw troops and seize rebel bases and arms caches. Chechnya remains a very dangerous place, one of the most dangerous in the world. That wont change a lot once the nationalist and Islamic rebels are destroyed. Chechens favor an outlaw way of doing business, and this includes the ones who back the Russians. All the Russians want is for the Chechens to refrain from launching crime waves on neighboring Russian areas. How well the pro-Russian Chechens will be able to do this remains to be seen.
