In 2004, counter-terrorist operations killed over 200 terrorists were killed, and more than 900 suspects were arrested (mainly in Chechnya.) During these operations, some 800 buildings were destroyed. In addition, 238 foreigners, suspected of involvement with terrorist groups, were banned from entering Russia. Over 200 terrorist attacks were prevented in Russia last year.
