The "Shariat Group in Dagestan," took credit for the July 1st bombing, and promised many more if Russia did not get out of Dagestan. The group wants to establish an Islamic state in the Caucasus. Islamic terrorists in Dagestan are believed to be Chechens, some of whom come from the small Chechen population in Dagestan.
