Darfur rebel groups JEM and the SLA have called on Arab countries to pressure Sudan to stop persecuting non-Arab minorities. The rebels ask that this kind of persecution cease in all Arab countries. Arabs have tended to downplay and ignore this persecution, which is quite common in Arab countries.
