For nearly a century, an effective treatment for mustard gas injuries has been sought. Israeli researchers have finally found one, using iodine. Tests show that the treatment greatly reduces the effect of mustard gas on skin and other exposed body parts. Israel still maintains a considerable amount of research on treating chemical weapons victims, mainly because most of Israel's enemies are known to maintain stocks of chemical weapons.
